Seasoned Leadership Meets Fast-Casual Growth

Michael’s restaurant industry journey began like any other, working as a team member at Papa John’s while still in high school. Over the next 30 years, he rose through the ranks to guide operations for more than 3,000 locations across North America and Canada. His career has taken him from coast to coast, relocating 13 times to foster unit-level growth, champion operational excellence, and support franchisees in reaching their full potential.

Most recently, Michael served as Chief Restaurant Officer for Capriotti’s and Wing Zone, where he focused on enhancing the guest experience, boosting franchisee performance, and building strong operating teams. Now, he’s bringing that same fast-casual franchising expertise to MOOYAH.

Why MOOYAH?

For Michael, becoming MOOYAH’s president was more than just a career move. As a North Texas native and longtime fan of the brand, he was drawn to the opportunity to serve a local legend while staying close to his family.

Michael has seen firsthand that the most successful restaurant brands are the ones that listen to their franchisees and invest in their success. That’s why he’s making it a priority to understand MOOYAH from the inside out—spending time in our restaurants, talking directly with owners, and even learning our daily operations. His goal is to ensure that every franchise partner, whether they operate one location or ten, feels supported, heard, and set up for long-term success.

“My leadership philosophy is simple: nobody works for me; rather, I work for them,” Michael says. “The best way to grow a brand is to support the people behind it, and I’m committed to building on the strong foundation already in place [here at MOOYAH].”

Hitting the Ground Running

Michael isn’t wasting any time shaping the future of MOOYAH’s fast-casual franchise network. In his first 100 days, he’s been focused on building strong, in-person connections with franchise owners, managers, and team members to align on strategies that accelerate performance in today’s competitive fast-casual restaurant industry.

He is committed to completing our brand’s in-store franchisee training program to gain firsthand insight into the day-to-day responsibilities of our team members. This experience will contribute to his plan of fostering open lines of communication between franchisees and the MOO Crew leadership team.
